Kids Against Waste

Kids against waste is a game-exhibit about food waste for schools and families.

Kids Against Waste explains what is food waste and how it can be reduced and shows a collection of products made of materials produced using agricultural and food waste. It is an idea of Alessandro Garlandini and Clara Giardina.

Kids Against Waste has been displayed at MUBA – Milan’s Children Museum on Expo 2015, at Musei Civici di Reggio Emilia, at Fondazione Golinelli in Bologna and during the LongLake Festival in Lugano.

Toyssimi: 100 children + 100 designers = 100 extraordinary toys and more

A collaboration between 100 children and 100 designers who designed their dream toys at workshops organised by ilVespaio and Scuola Tam Tam in the child hospital wards of Milan and other cities, in family shelters and schools. All the 100 toys have been showcased at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.

The project is an idea of Alessandro Guerriero, Sebastiano Ercoli and Alessandro Garlandini of ilVespaio and Linda Ferrari. Participating child hospitals include: Istituto Ortopedico Gaetano Pini, Ospedale Luigi Sacco and Ospedale dei Bambini Vittore Buzzi, Casa Pediatrica dell’Azienda Ospedaliera Fatebenefratelli e Oftalmico of Milan, Ospedale Regina Margherita and CasaOZ of Turin. Some workshops were hosted by Scuola Dadà of Milan, with Officina cambiodidestinazione of Pescara, a children’s bookshop in Milazzo with o2 Italia.

ilVespaio against food waste

ilVespaio made a series of videos for a campaign against food waste in collaboration with Romborosa.

The campaign has been launched by FoodWeWant and Istituto Oikos Onlus in the WorldFoodDay 2013 and takes place in Italy, Spain, UK, Portugal and Poland.

99: set of wooden modular animals

99 is a set of 3 reused wooden modular animals which can be assembled to create up to 99 animals, gryphons, chimeras, flying fishes and other mythological monsters.

99 is designed by Sebastiano Ercoli and Alessandro Garlandini for aquapotabile®.
99 is a project of waste reduction in the furniture laser-cut production process. The 99 animals fit into the interstices of the larger furniture components so that waste is minimized.

Whirlpool: promotional products and furniture

Promotional products and furniture made reusing Whirlpool production scraps from their factory near Varese. Chessboard made of post-consumer re-used non-woven fabric, Chessmen made of flawed appliance knobs. Tables made of re-used ceramic glass cooktop. Aprons, shopping bags and a bread baskets produced re-using the old advertising banners of the company.
